This carriage house was renovated for the architect Gilly Youner and her husband John Leeper. It was a complete gut renovation. It was formerly used as an electrical supply warehouse in Park Slope. There was extensive structural steel work to support a first floor concrete slab. Radiant floor heating was installed throughout the house. The roof of the rear extension was removed to allow for the atrium. The kitchen was custom designed by the architect and then shop fabricated. She also designed the custom steel and oak stairway and handrail as well as the ornamental steel balcony and doorway on the front of the building. We installed oak flooring throughout the house. There is a master bedroom and a child’s bedroom on the second floor. As well as a bathroom on each floor, both have glass mosaic tile. An industrial garage door was chosen by the architect to give the house a modern look. The interior finishes are very minimalist in style. All the doors are case less and instead have a reveal detail. The house is centrally air conditioned with extensive ductwork throughout. The kitchen has custom stone countertops as well as custom mosaic back splash.
